Mechanic

The Mechanic will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing faults, and repairing a variety of mechanical equipment. The position requires someone who can work independently, solve problems effectively, and respond quickly to breakdowns, especially in remote locations. Ensuring equipment is maintained according to manufacturer standards and monitoring its condition are key parts of the role.

The successful candidate will also assist in training and mentoring apprentices and trainee mechanics, helping to build skills within the team. Good organisational skills are required for managing workshop stock, ordering spare parts, maintaining records, and assisting with stock takes.

The ideal candidate should hold a National Craft Certificate in Auto Mechanics and have at least three years of experience after qualification. Experience working on boats, tractors, and generators will be an added advantage. A valid driver’s licence, relevant safety certifications, and physical fitness are required.
